The Drift

“WANTED: Men and women wanted for hazardous journey. No wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. SAFE RETURN DOUBTFUL. Honour and recognition in event of success.” The Drift is the highest elevation winter ultramarathon in the United States. Racers (“drifters”) battle extreme elements and elevation to run, bike or ski the 13‑, 28- or 100-mile course in the Green River valley, usually in a blizzard. Fun, right?
Pinedale Half Marathon

At autumn’s peak, the Pinedale Half Marathon draws all walks of life, especially the running ones to race along a beautiful course along Fremont Lake among the Wind River Mountains. The event includes a run/walk for the entire half (13.1 miles), a 10K (6.2 miles) or a one mile course. A FREE Community BBQ is open to everyone after the race. Visitors from all over the states are drawn to this scenic fall marathon… one of Wyoming’s most popular halfs.

Top off your summer activities with a day in Pinedale’s beautiful American Legion Park at the Wind River Brew Fest. Sample craft beers from all over the west as you listen to music or stroll along Pine Creek. Food vendors, jewelry vendors and more will be there to help you make it a day to remember. To date breweries include Badass Brews, Snake River, Saltfire Brewing, Wind River Brewing, Open Barrel, Roosters, and Square State. More or on the way. Got a favorite brewery you don’t see signed up- please ask them to reach out to us. Vote for your favorite and help them take home the 2026 title!!
