Just a few miles northeast of Pinedale, Wyoming lies the second largest lake in the state, Fremont Lake.

Equipped with a boat ramp and dock, the lake allows motorized and non-motorized water vehicles in its pristine water.

Boulder Lake

About 25 miles southeast of Pinedale lies the tranquil Boulder Lake, a favorite for fishing, boating, and swimming.

Half sagebrush hills and half forest, this little lake (4 miles long and 1/2 mile wide) has incredible views of the Wind River Mountain Range.

With boat ramps on the north and south sides of the lake, fishing and boating is accessible. This is a popular place for good reason. Bring the family by for a day of swimming and fishing for a day to remember.

Before You Go

Rules, Regulations, and Boating Safety

  • In the state of Wyoming, all waters are governed by the Wyoming Game & Fish Department
  • No one under the age of 16 is allowed to operate/be in physical control of any boat unless an adult is present
  • Motorized watercraft must be registered with the state annually
  • Registration numbers must be clearly visible
  • Watercraft reaching 16 feet or longer must have enough floatation devices for all persons on board
  • All persons water skiing, on jet skis, or towed by motor boat must wear life jackets
  • Be aware of the causes and risks of hypothermia

Please Note

Jet skis are not permitted on New Fork Lakes, Green River Lakes, or any of the lakes within the Wyoming Range. Motor boats are also prohibited on lakes within the Wyoming Range.
